As a specialized private practice, we are experiencing unprecedented growth in individual care and a demand for group services. But we can’t do this solo! Registered Psychotherapist | Social Worker

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS

THE ROLE

  
We are seeking Registered Psychotherapists and/or Social Workers to join the practice. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting adult Black women and women of colour facing complex life challenges including trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar, and other mental health care needs. 

This independent contract role involves providing virtual and/or in-person counselling services to clients referred by OMC.  In-person services will be delivered at either Mississauga and/or Kitchener office locations. Scarborough option may be available.
 
We are looking for practitioners to deliver person-centred, culturally responsive, affirming care while following leading clinical practices. If you resonate with any of the following scenarios, we encourage you to reach out and let’s discuss: 

 
  • You’re passionate about women’s health and wellness and want to work with Black and racialized communities.
  • You want an entrepreneurial role and yearn for autonomy, but you’re not interested in starting your own practice.
  • You’re a practitioner in a solo practice, craving contact with like-minded peers.
  • You’re a practitioner in a group practice who values diversity and seeks to work in a supportive environment that reflects you and engages with clients of the communities we serve.
  • ​Working in a public institution has you feeling underpaid and overworked, but you like the stability of a full-time role, base salary, and benefits.
  • You enjoy having the option to offer virtual appointments but would love to go into the office space sometimes without taking on the overhead of leasing your own space.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work.
  • An active member in good standing with a professional college in Ontario.
  • Fully qualified to practice independently by your professional college in Ontario.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduate counselling experience servicing Black and racialized communities.
  • Valid professional liability insurance​

What We Hope You Bring
  • Ability to work with women’s mental health issues and some knowledge of local community resources.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills with ability to provide comprehensive treatment planning.
  • Strong interpersonal sills to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Effective time management and the ability to manage administrative tasks.
  • Adaptability to work with a practice management system and electronic record keeping.
  • Availability to provide virtual or in-person support (hybrid is available, if desired)
  • Certified or experienced in crisis intervention, psychological first aid, harm reduction, or other relevant certification is considered an asset.​
