Identifying Women
A person, who regardless of their sex assigned at birth, identifies as a woman and/or who identifies as female non-conforming.

A Black identity is a self and collectively conscious effort for people of African descent to be self-naming and self-defining in route to increasing the human respect and dignity of African people and their descendants.

About the Founder
Cindy Stater-Drummond, Founder and Lead Therapist
RP, MACP, MA, BHK, EYRT
Previously, Cindy lead strategy planning and policy, anti-racism, equity, and inclusion, performance and talent management programs, leadership development, and teaching and education for large public sector organizations, including the Government of Ontario. She is an advocate for empowering underserved and underrepresented communities and created her company, Own My Canvas Psychotherapy and Wellness Inc., to empower the self-development and growth of identifying Black women and women of colour by spotlighting the slogan, "Be You. Love You. Do You", and through affirming mental health care, embodied yoga, and wellness advisory.
Cindy obtained her M.A. from Yorkville University in Counselling Psychology, M.A. from Eastern Michigan University in Social Foundations and Community Education, Bachelor of Human Kinetics with honours from the University of Windsor with a minor in Cultural Anthropology. All of which are supported by certifications specializing trauma and somatic experiencing yoga, complex trauma, psychological first aid, mediation, high-performance sport coaching, and executive leadership.

Cindy is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario and expert-level yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance International.
